About the Recipe

Melaine is a land known for its unique and delicious cuisine. The San Jacoban is among the realm's most popular meals and is another example of a uniquely Melanish recipe. Melaine is famous for its meat loving culture and this dish serves as an exemplary ambassador, showcasing their love of pork. The pepperoni's and pepperoncini's zap blending with the soft sweet taste of apple butter wrapped in a cheese filled tortilla is a beloved sandwich in the southeast of the known world.

Named after its place of origin, Santijacobo, the San Jacoban has spread west becoming a staple dish across Melaine. Pepperoncinis originated in southern Cyros but over time had spread east to Melaine. They grew particularly well in the sub-tropical climate near Santijacobo, thus the origin of this dish. It is one of those unique meals that can be served in a way to please the elite of the realm, or it can be prepared without a few of the standard ingredients to be accessible enough for the common people to enjoy too.

While this is the pride of Santijacobo, other coastal towns typically add shrimp or fish instead of pork, and other inland rural settlements may use beef instead. It is often served with a side salad, steamed vegetables, or oysters depending on the location.

Ingredients

  • 1 tortilla

  • 1/2 tbs of apple butter or a cinnamon butter spread

  • 3 slices of ham

  • 2 slices of provolone (21 grams)

  • 6 small pepperoni slices

  • 1 small handful of pepperoncini slices

Recipe

  1. Spread the apple butter throughout one side of the tortilla very thinly with no collected quantities.

  2. On the same side, fold ham slices across one half of the tortilla

  3. Above the ham, add provolone cheese slices

  4. Above the provolone, add the pepperoni & pepperoncini slices

  5. Fold the tortilla in on each side about one inch. Then fold one long side inward about an inch as well. Finally, take the half with just apple butter, folding around the other half to create a wrap.

  6. Air fry the wrap for 4 minutes at 350 degrees. Alternatively, skillet cook in olive oil until crisp.
